A.J. Wright was a chain of discount clothing stores that operated in the United States from 1998 to 2011. Owned by TJX Companies, the same parent company as T.J. Maxx and Marshalls, A.J. Wright aimed to provide a similar off-price retail experience with a focus on family apparel, home goods, and footwear. They catered to a budget-conscious customer base, offering brand name and designer merchandise at significantly lower prices than traditional department stores.  The A.J. Wright's business model relied on opportunistic buying, acquiring merchandise from manufacturers and other retailers who had excess inventory or overstock. This allowed them to offer deep discounts to their customers. A.J. Wright differentiated itself from its sister stores by targeting a slightly different demographic and refreshing its merchandise more frequently, with new shipments arriving almost daily. However, despite its initial success, A.J. Wright ultimately struggled to achieve the same level of profitability as T.J. Maxx and Marshalls, leading to its closure in 2011.
